I have a weird issue with the game. My sound is buzzing in the game, kind of like a scratching noise.

My sys specs are
I5 3.3Ghz
Nvidia GTX 570
6GB RAM
Win 7 64bit

Audio card is a dedicated ASUS Xonar HDAV soundcard.

Second issue is that in the demo, I could use the mouse wheel to increase and decrease the acceleration of the airplane, but in the full version, only deceleration works, so I always crash when trying to adjust it. I did not change the controls yet, so I wondered if this is a known issue with the default controls?

About sound problem - try to off and on sound in options. Try to off music and listen is there is some noise?

About scroll - I have no idea, we use same version build for demo except mission counter and demo messages.

Very strange about this bugs. But I know only one thing game was released in 2007, and we do not test on Win7 64-bit. So It may be some kind compatibility bug. We test game on XP and it run perfect.

I tried your suggestion. The issue happens as soon as I go from the menu to the airplane screen where I can refuel it and it is very audible in the game itself, because the engine noise causes it all the time. There is no sound issue in the main menu though. Turning the sound on and off did not help.

I will try around to see if I can work out a solution and then let you know.

Ok. Have you integrated soundcard (AC'97)? May be bug with sound driver of your ASUS Xonar HDAV.

I had a similar issue with another game (called Dungeons) and switched to a unified driver. I do have an integrated soundcard, but it is disabled and I do not intend to switch back to it, even for testing. Sorry.

I will fiddle around with the settings of the Asus card and if I find a solution, I will let you know. Was just wondering if it was maybe a known issue. Smiley If I get to it, at some point, I can reinstall the official drivers and test them, for curiousities sake.

I reinstalled the official sound drivers and now the behaviour is different. I get scratching noises in the intro that shows the devs screen and the honoring message. I do not get any scratching in the main menu and first mission, however then (after the first mission in the main menu and every subsequent mission) it starts there too. Guess it is soundcard related then. Sad Gonna fiddle around with more setting, but will stay with official drivers, so I can check if Direct Hit acts different too.

Hm... You are right - this is problem with sound card driver. Try install old versions if you can find it. Also it may be connected with volume level, try to decrease in system overall volume. Also try to increase process priority level.
